Sample License Terms
1. Introduction
When you purchase Extra Content (samples, loops, stems, sound packs) on Soundyard, you receive a license to use that content according to the terms below. The specific license type (Basic, Premium, or Exclusive) is indicated on the product page at time of purchase.
Important: You are purchasing a LICENSE to use the content, not the copyright itself. The original creator retains copyright ownership.
2. License Types
2.1 Basic License
What you CAN do:
- ✓ Use in unlimited musical productions
- ✓ Release on streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, etc.)
- ✓ Use in videos (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc.)
- ✓ Perform publicly (live shows, DJ sets, clubs, festivals)
- ✓ Use in commercial projects (ads, films, games) - unlimited revenue
- ✓ Modify, chop, manipulate, and process the content
What you CANNOT do:
- ✗ Resell, redistribute, or share the original files
- ✗ Include in sample packs or sound libraries for sale or free download
- ✗ Claim copyright ownership of the original content
- ✗ Register the unmodified content with Content ID, YouTube, or similar systems
License scope: Non-exclusive, Worldwide, Perpetual (no expiration), Royalty-free (no additional payments required)
2.2 Premium License
Includes everything from Basic License, plus: Stems and trackouts (individual instrument/vocal tracks) if included, higher quality files (WAV, AIFF) if available, project files if provided by seller.
2.3 Exclusive License
The most complete license. You are the only buyer and the content is removed from sale after your purchase.

3. Specific Use Cases
Streaming & Downloads: Yes, you can release music containing licensed samples on all platforms.
YouTube & Video Platforms: Yes, you can use in YouTube videos, monetized or not.
Sync & Licensing: Yes, you can use in TV, film, advertisements, video games without additional fees.
Live Performance: Yes, you can use in DJ sets, live shows and performances without restrictions.
Collaborations: Yes, you can use samples in collaborative works with other artists.
4. Credit & Attribution
Basic & Premium License: Credit to the original creator is appreciated but NOT required. Exclusive License: Credit is not required.
5. Content ID & Copyright Registration
Basic & Premium License: Do NOT register the unmodified sample/loop with Content ID. Exclusive License: You MAY register with Content ID as the controller.
6. Refunds & Disputes
6.1 No Refunds After Download
Due to the digital nature of samples and loops, all sales are final once downloaded. This is in accordance with EU consumer law regarding digital content.
6.2 Exceptions
You may request a refund if: the file is corrupted and cannot be replaced, the content differs significantly from the description, or the content contains unlicensed third-party material.
7. Warranty & Liability
Sellers warrant that they have the right to sell the content and that it does not infringe third-party rights. Soundyard is a marketplace platform and is not liable for seller content.
8. License Termination
Your license may be terminated if: you violate these terms, you obtained the content through fraud, or the original sale is reversed (chargeback).
